ITINERARY

Day 1 – Welcome to Arusha, Tanzania
Upon arrival at the airport today you will be met by a local guide and transfer to your hotel. The adventure begins tonight. We will have a quick welcome meeting before dinner, after introductions, your tour guide will review the details of your tour.

Day 2 – Arusha National Park – Walking Safari
After breakfast drive the short distance to Arusha National Park where you head out on an easy walking safari with an armed ranger. Walk through open plains and the lower slopes of Mt. Meru over to waterfalls. Get a different perspective of viewing wildlife from the ground level. There are also good chances of seeing black and white Colobus monkey.

Day 3 – Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast depart towards Lake Manyara National Park for game drives of this very diverse park. If you are lucky you may see the famous tree climbing lions. Picnic lunch in the bush followed by game drives until mid afternoon, then slowly make your way out of the park and onto the camp.

Day 4 – Maasai Village and Medicine Walk
Early morning meet your Maasai guide and continue down to a Boma (mud dwelling) for an introduction into the Maasai way of life, beliefs and rituals. Enjoy breakfast before heading to Mto wa Mbu village for a cultural Tuk Tuk tour.

Day 5 – Lake Manyara National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Morning wake-up call with bird chorus. After breakfast you head via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the endless plains of Serengeti. Game drive en-route to central Serengeti – explore the many different areas of the park, your driver guide will advice on the best places to visit.

Day 6 – Serengeti Balloon Safari
Early morning head out for a Balloon flight. View the Serengeti plains from a hot air balloon followed by champagne breakfast on the landing site. A full day of game drives in Serengeti National Park. Head over to the Rock Kopjes where you have good chances of seeing some of the cat families. Cheetah and lion use this giant rock out crops as observation posts.

Day 7 – Serengeti National Park Game Drives
A full day of game drives in Serengeti National Park. You will be game driving from central Serengeti to western Serengeti stopping along the way to enjoy your packed lunches.

Day 8 – Serengeti National Park Game Drives
A full day of game drives in Serengeti National Park. You will be game driving from central Serengeti to western Serengeti stopping along the way to enjoy your packed lunches.

Day 9 – Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast game drives en-route out of the Serengeti, heading back through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area towards the Ngorongoro Crater. Continue to the crater rim and onto the NCAA HQ where you collect a ranger who will accompany you on a nature walk of the crater rim.

Day 10 – Ngorongoro Crater Game Drives
Early morning descend into the crater for game drives. There are 25,000 large mammals residing in the park. The elephants are mainly bulls, females stay out of the park due to it boasting the largest predator population in Africa. Black Rhino also make their home on the grassy plains, their numbers make up for almost half of what can still be found in East Africa; about 20 in total.

Day 11 – Endoro Waterfalls & Elephant Caves
After breakfast head to the Ngorongoro forest near Karatu town for a short walk to the Endoro waterfalls and elephant caves. You will then start your journey back to Arusha in time for a late lunch at Arusha Coffee lodge. After lunch enjoy a coffee tour at Arusha Coffee Lodge before making your way to your accommodation.

Day 12 – Depart Arusha
After breakfast enjoy a morning tour of Arusha town – visiting Cultural Heritage, Maasai curio market, Local market, clock tower. Lunch will be at a local restaurant where you will enjoy a Swahili style bbq lunch. After lunch transfer to airport as needed for your flight home or continue to Zanzibar on our Women’s Travel Club Signature Zanzibar Experience.

Roommate Matching Policy
Roommate matching is done as a courtesy, and while most matches result in wonderful friendships, success is not guaranteed. If during the tour you decide you would no longer like to share a room with your roommate, you will need to request (and pay for) a single room at all accommodations. This can be shared between the two people in the room if it is a mutual decision. If you are a very light sleeper or snore, you may want to consider getting your own single room.

This particular camp is located 17kms from Seronera HQ / Airstrip, and lies right in the heart of central Serengeti. There are also large acacia trees spread sparingly across the camp which adds on to create a tranquil feel of the camp and also helps provide natural shading assisting to keep cool the tents during the hot summer months.

Through our own clients and networking clubs we have realized a general desire for women to travel but they don’t always have a companion. We developed the Women’s Travel Club for these women to have a fun and safe group to travel with. We offer a wide range of destinations, so that there is something for everyone.
We have women of all ages, with the average being 45 to 65 years. However, we do have regular travelers anywhere from 30 years to over 80 years of age.
We do not include international flights in the price of our tours. Not including the cost of international flights in the cost of the tour allows members the flexibility to get the flight schedule, price and class of service that best suits them. A tourist visa is required for Tanzania. At main ports of entry, you can get a visa on arrival for a maximum of 3 months. Travel requirements may change at any time. While no vaccinations are required for travel to Tanzania, proof of a Yellow Fever vaccination is required if you are coming from or have transited through an airport of a country where Yellow Fever occurs. Be sure that your routine vaccinations are up-to-date before traveling. You should visit a travel clinic or doctor prior to this tour to discuss and get recommendations specific to you and your medical history. It is recommended to take anti-malarial medication during this tour.
The long dry season lasts throughout June, July, August, September and October is when rainfall is unusual, even on the islands. Temperatures vary hugely with altitude and location, but it's usually a fine, clear sky and sunny weather – it's a great time to visit Tanzania.
