Upon arrival at the airport today, you will be transferred to our airport hotel for the night. Our adventure begins this evening, We will have a welcome meeting and start to get acquainted .

After breakfast we will transfer back to the airport and fly to the Galapagos Islands. Today our true adventure will start.
You will be met at the airport and transported to your boat. After a short time to settle in, the boat will set sail. After this, we will visit Bachas Beach is located on the north shore of Santa Cruz and is a beach for swimming. One of the few remnants of the U.S. World War II presence in the Galapagos, a floating pier, can be seen here. You may see flamingos, Sally Lightfoot crabs, hermit crabs, black-necked stilts, and whimbrels. Sea turtles also nest on the beach.
Galapagos wildlife to look out for: Finches, giant tortoise, vermilion flycatcher.

Located on Santa Cruz Island, Dragon Hill is among the Galapagos Islands’ newest tourist spots. Follow one of the longer walking paths, which leads along a beach and up to a lagoon lookout, offering sightings of flamingos, pintail ducks, and land iguanas. Another destination is Bartholomew Island, home to the iconic Pinnacle Rock and an extinct volcano boasting vivid red, orange, black, and green volcanic formations. Ascend to the volcano’s summit via a stairway trail (taking about 30-40 minutes) for breathtaking island views. Nearby, a small, picturesque beach is surrounded by the island’s sole vegetation, perfect for snorkeling among Galapagos penguins.

Comprised of two separate coves, Vicente Roca Point is a large bay with spectacular sea life. Keep an eye out for seahorses, sea turtles, and the strange yet fascinating Mola mola (or sun fish) while you snorkel. In the afternoon we will Cross the Bolivar Channel that divides Isabela and Fernandina Islands, you will land at Espinoza Point, and after walking past a colony of marine iguanas and a group of sea lions, you will reach the island’s highlight: the flightless cormorant nesting site. This area also provides a great opportunity to see the Galapagos hawk. Tagus Cove, situated on Isabela Island across from Fernandina Island near the Bolivar Channel, has served as a popular anchorage site for ships since the 1800s. Explore trails that wind by Lake Darwin, offering stunning views from the ridge. In the afternoon, head to Elizabeth Bay on the east coast of Isabela Island, known for its numerous islets accessible by dinghy. Keep an eye out for penguins and blue-footed boobies on the rocky islets, and enjoy snorkeling in the clear waters among schools of colorful fish, sea lions, and possibly sharks, thanks to the area’s abundant marine life. Urbina Bay, situated at the foot of Alcedo Volcano on the west coast between Tagus Cove and Elizabeth Bay, underwent a significant uplift in 1954, causing the land to rise over 16 feet and expanding the coast half a mile out, leaving marine life stranded on the new shore. This area is also ideal for snorkeling. In the afternoon, visit Moreno Point, located southwest of Elizabeth Bay, where you can make a dry landing on once-flowing lava. The lava has created craters that now form crystal tide pools, offering a glimpse into another world as marine life drifts by. Keep an eye out for pink flamingos, white-cheeked pintails, and common gallinules in the brackish pools, and if you’re lucky, you may spot white-tip reef sharks and sea turtles.

Explore the Sierra Negra Volcano, boasting the Galapagos’ largest basaltic caldera, spanning 6.2 miles (10 km) in diameter. This site offers stunning vistas and the chance to observe up to seven finch species, along with a diverse array of vegetation. The caldera’s north side showcases evidence of its most recent volcanic activity in 2005. In the afternoon, head to the Arnaldo Tupiza Breeding Center, located approximately one mile (1.5 km) from Puerto Villamil. Here, tortoise populations from various locations including South Isabela, Sierra Negra Volcano, Cerro Azul, Cazuela, Cinco Cerros, Roca Union, San Pedro, Tables, and Cerro Paloma have been successfully bred in captivity, totaling 330 juvenile and adult tortoises.

You will have a chance to snorkel around Devil’s Crown which is the rocky remains of an offshore volcano sticking out of the water. This is a great location to spot a wide range of marine creatures. Afterwards we will visit Cormorant Point that hosts a large flamingo lagoon where other birds such as common stilts and white-cheeked pintails can also be seen. The beaches on this island are distinct: The Green Beach is named so due to its green color, which comes from a high percentage of olivine crystals in the sand, and the Flour Sand Beach is composed of white coral. In the afternoon you will land on a beach and head to a spot where 18th century whalers placed a wooden barrel used as an unofficial mail box. The custom continues to this day with Galapagos visitors. So, don’t forget your postcards, and don’t be surprised if the post card arrives to its destination before you even get home!

Mosquera Islet, situated between Baltra and North Seymour islands, features a reef of rocks and coral, spanning just 160 meters at its narrowest point. This island boasts one of the largest populations of sea lions in the Galapagos and is a haven for numerous shorebirds. There have been sporadic reports of orcas feeding on sea lions at this site. Today’s wildlife sightings may include flamingos, shorebirds, and white-cheeked pintail ducks. Following this last excursion, you will be transferred to Baltra airport for your return flight to the mainland.
