This afternoon, we will enjoy a Madrid city tour. The tour starts at the modern part of Madrid: Castellana Boulevard, where we discover the skyscrapers and the famous Bernabeu stadium. Then on to Las Ventas Bullring Gran Via, Plaza de Espana and monument to Cervantes and Plaza del Descubrimento with the monument of Cristobal Colon The XVIII century area around the Prado Boulevard decorated with beautiful fountains. Next, we will visit the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia. The glass opening in the otherwise historic façade hints at the surprising gems within, including masterpieces focusing on feminism, dreams, the Spanish civil war, and most notably, Picasso’s “Guernica.” Rotating exhibitions span the globe and touch upon thought-provoking, conversation-starting topics. This is one of the world’s largest museums dedicated to modern art, quite an impressive feat for a museum that opened in 1992.
