Some recent post tour comments
"Traveling with this group made everything so convenient and stress free. Our tour guide was amazing and really elevated what was already a great experience! And getting to meet a bunch of strangers and build relationships with them throughout the trip was really fun. I'd definitely recommend booking a trip with this group if you want to be able to travel to really cool locations without having to worry about any of the planning. I loved just being along for the ride each day and not having to make the plans or figure out logistics myself. It gave me more energy to just embrace the experiences I was having."

Gorilla trekking is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and a hightlight of your Uganda & Rwanda trip. On this gorilla trekking experience you will be visiting the Mountain Gorillas of the mountains of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. You can expect your trek to last between 4 and 6 hours and you will spend one hour with the gorillas.
This tour also gives the option of experiencing a second gorilla trek in the Virunga Mountains of Rwanda (extra expense).
Our Chimpanzee trekking will be in Kibale National Park which holds 1500 chimpanzees. These amazing primates share about 90% of their DNA with humans. The wild, habituated chimpanzees are comfortable with the trekkers observing them and we can spend an hour with them.
Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch is the proud home of the only white rhinos in Uganda. Located in Nakasongola district, not only can you find rhinos, but a wide variety of bird species and other wildlife.
On our Rhino trek, you will enter the territory of the southern white rhinos on foot. The well-trained rangers will guide you through the bush to wherever the rhinos are at the time. This adventure will give you the opportunity to watch these endangered, magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. All the rhinos at Ziwa are free to move around the 27 square miles within the ranch. Therefore, it is often necessary to drive to the areas where the rhinos are, before continuing the trek on foot.
Golden Monkey trekking takes place in Volcanoes National Park (same park as gorilla trekking in Rwanda) at the bottom of the mountain in the bamboo vegetation. These rare species are also listed as endangered – and Volcanoes national park currently has two habituated golden monkeys’ troops that are available for visiting by tourists in the park, both of which make about 80 members.
Golden monkeys in Rwanda live in the bamboo vegetation towards the base of the volcanoes and habituation has helped them to overcome their initial shyness to accept their daily visit by researchers and tourists. Trekking golden monkeys and gorillas is a similar experience – in a small group of no more than eight people, and you can spend one hour with the monkeys once you find them. The endangered species are very active creatures, and jump from tree to tree which is really interesting and a little difficult to photograph!
