Nestled on picturesque Wadmalaw Island in the heart of the Lowcountry, just a few miles south of historic Charleston, our garden awaits your exploration.
Beyond our sprawling tea plants, embark on an educational tour of our tea factory. Walk through the entire length of our tea production building, witnessing the equipment used in tea-making. Informative TV screens along the glassed-in gallery provide insights into the entire process. Additionally, our 45-minute trolley ride includes a stop at our state-of-the-art greenhouse. Take a visit to the gift shop, filled with an array of tea-related items. For lunch we will have boxed lunches.
After lunch we will visit Deep Water Vineyards, Nestled among the majestic live oaks on Wadmalaw Island, just outside Charleston, this 48-acre winery and vineyard offers a unique experience. As the only domestic winery in Charleston, South Carolina, it’s a must-visit destination in the Lowcountry.
The wine here is made from one of the only truly native grapes to the US, the muscadine grape, and the winery prides itself on this heritage. Staying true to its Southern roots, the vineyard grows muscadine grapes, a fruit native to the Southeastern United States. They produce authentic muscadine wine, offering five different labels from four varieties of grapes.
We will take part in tastings that include a complementary wine glass as well as walks on the vineyards walking trails, garden and gift shop as well as many animals to get to know.
After guests can enjoy some free time before we visit Chef Bob for a cooking class.
