In the afternoon we will discover ancient Roman Barcelona on a guided tour. This part of the city is one of the oldest, dating back over 2,000 years.
Let your imagination run wild, as we recreate the Roman Forum in modern-day Plaça de Sant Jaume, which even now remains the seat of political power in Catalonia. Walk along one of the world’s best preserved Roman walls and imagine the therapeutic spas once present at the Roman Baths of Pati Llimona.
After breakfast we will Escape the crowds and chaos of the city and take a break to the Catalonian countryside. Take a half-day tour to enjoy a pilgrimage to the mystical mountaintop retreat of Montserrat. Journey to the discovery of the nearly 1,000-year-old Benedictine Monastery set high above Catalonia. See the famous ‘Black Madonna’ icon and visit the legendary ‘Holy Cave’ where the virgin is said to have once appeared. Get breath taken by the dazzling views and peculiar landscape that will surround you, while exploring the
mountain.
Enjoy breakfast and some free time to explore before we set out on a food tour in the afternoon.
During our lunch we’ll visit 3 carefully chosen establishments. You’ll have
plenty to eat and drink but not so much that you can’t go on with your day (no siesta needed after it!). It’s perfect for those who prefer to make their main meal during the day and works particularly well for families. Our tour groups are small, meaning we can go to the kinds of restaurants and eateries the locals love because they have the best food.
After breakfast, transfer by coach from you hotel to Girona.
Meet your guide on site for a cultural discovery of the city: its history, legends, the Call (Jewish quarter), its ramparts and the medieval Jewish influence on the city.
Lunch will be in a Girona restaurant.
After breakfast, we will set out on a Medieval city and its castle.
Drive to a nearby château north of Carcassonne. With its historic monument, works of art, park classified as a Remarkable Garden, vineyards, vineyard path, winery, restaurant, and boutique, we offer you a complete tour of history, vines, and wine.
Visit the Pink City classified as a Unesco world heritage town with its splendid painted Ste Cecile cathedral, the old private mansions.
Regional lunch in the square opposite the Cathedral of Albi.
Drive to Cordes sur Ciel.
Immerse yourself in the Middle Ages and let yourself be guided through the medieval streets of the city of Mirepoix.
Discover the authentic square, the half-timbered houses and the wonderfully preserved covered galleries. This visit will reveal to you the treasures of the building artists, the 104 wooden sculptures that testify to their genius. Soak up the enchanting medieval atmosphere and explore the hidden secrets of this historic city.
After breakfast, transfer to Bordeaux.
On the way, stop at Moissac to visit the Unesco-listed Moissac Cloister, on the Way of Saint James. It is the first cloister to have kept its sculptures intact, it is remarkable for its 76
capitals of which 46 are historiated as much for its cornerstones. The portal : 12 century, constitutes another monument of Romanesque sculpture, famed for its Tympanum which
shows an interpretation of the Apocalypse according to Saint John. The Abbey church of Saint Pierre, 12th and 15th centuries: its base is Romanesque and its upper parts are
Gothic.
After breakfast, your day begins with a journey to the picturesque countryside plains and rolling hills of the right bank wine-producing area. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the Chateau Soutard vineyard with a knowledgeable guide who can provide insights into the intricate
connection between nature and the winemaking techniques employed at this castle. The visit will conclude with a tasting session featuring three of the estate’s wines.
After breakfast, meet your private guide at your hotel is the perfect start to your exploration of Bordeaux’s UNESCO-listed historic center. As you explore this beautiful city on foot, you’ll have the opportunity to admire a range of landmarks and immerse yourself in Bordeaux’s fascinating history and cultural heritage.
