We chose the Intercontinental Resort Tahiti for this list as it is conveniently located in Papeete and after a long flight you need somewhere wonderful to relax before you start your Polynesian adventure.
The Intercontinental is an oasis of beautiful gardens and breathtaking views. This is a great opportunity to treat yourself to an over-water bungalow as the rate here is much lower than other resorts throughout the islands.
