Weather
October is one of the best months to visit Machu Picchu. As it’s the transition month between the dry and wet seasons, little rain is expected, and it is away from the cold weather of the winter season. The temperatures in Machu Picchu will vary from highs of around 72°F (22°C) and lows of around 41°F (5°C).
Currency
The official currency of Peru is the Sol (S/). Banknotes come in denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100 or 200 soles. Coins come in denominations of 1, 2 and 5 soles, as well as 10, 20 and 50 cents. US dollars are accepted in a large number of commercial establishments, restaurants, hotels and gas stations. Foreign currency can be exchanged at banks or exchange offices.

ATMs can be found in almost all cities in the country and most are connected to the Plus (Visa) and Cirrus (MasterCard) networks, American Express, and others. Cash can be withdrawn in soles or US dollars from these ATMs.

Visa and Mastercard are the most widely accepted credit cards.
Electric Outlets
In Peru there are three associated plug types, types A, B and C. Type A plugs have two flat parallel pins, type B plugs have two flat parallel pins and a grounding pin and type C plugs have two round pins. Peru operates on a 220V supply voltage and 60Hz.

A universal all-in-one travel adapter (can be purchased from retailers like Amazon) will allow you to plug in and charge most electronic devices. Most electronic devices have built-in converters. However, if you plan to use North American appliances like hair dryers, flat irons or curling irons you will need a converter.
