Late morning, board your private coach as we travel inland to the Mornington Peninsula, across the San Remo Bridge to Phillip Island. Absorb the peace and quiet of this sleepy island paradise – a popular get-away spot for city dwellers. Enjoy a visit to Churchill Island Heritage farm where you can wander the old homestead and experience some of the daily heritage farm activities that can include cow milking, sheep shearing and working dogs demonstrations.
After Churchill continue onto the Koala Conservation Centre where you come ‘face to face’ with koalas in their natural habitat. Explore the treetop boardwalks and stroll through the woodlands, home to many animals including wallabies, echidnas, bats and birds. Later we head to the Penguin Reserve, which occupies most of the island. Witness the penguin’s daily journey from the sea to the land. From the day’s catch of fish, they return to their nests on the beach to feed their awaiting families. Convenient boardwalks and platforms ensure your view and protect the penguins.
Experience the magic of little penguins returning home at sunset to one of the largest penguin colonies in Australia from the Penguins Plus viewing platform. Enjoy a more personal viewing experience, limited to 190 people. At the end of the evening, re-board your coach for the return journey to Melbourne.
