Our chosen retreat, Namushasha River Lodge, is truly enchanting and offers an array of thrilling activities. Look forward to leisurely walks through the lush campsite, adorned with vibrant green lawns, and visited the traditional heritage center, immerse yourselves in the rich local culture. For a memorable experience, hop aboard river boats during the serene early mornings or enchanting late afternoons, embarking on cruises along the meandering channels. These cruises allow you to explore the diverse bird life that thrives in this region.

Another adventure is to venture into the Bwabwata National Park.  Watch for the park’s abundant wildlife, including majestic elephants, hippos, crocodiles, turtles, delightful spotted-necked otters, zebra, impala, and graceful red lechwe, provided us with unforgettable encounters.

At the end of the day, there’s nothing that can quite compare to a red Zambezi sunset. Whether teetotaller or not, you’ll want to have something cool and refreshing on hand to toast the day.

The Kwando River, meandering through the breathtaking Zambezi Region in northwestern Namibia, delineates the border between Namibia and Botswana as it nears its journey’s end. This area along the Kwando is renowned for its game reserves, national parks, and wildlife sanctuaries, offering exceptional opportunities for observing wildlife. The river’s perennial flow attracts an abundance of wildlife, including impressive herds of elephants, hippos, crocodiles, turtles, delightful spotted-necked otters, zebra, impala, and graceful red lechwe. Furthermore, more than 400 species of birds thrive in this captivating region, adding to its natural splendor.
