Enjoy some free time this morning to explore, shop or just relax. This afternoon we will head out on a Food & History Tour through the French Quarter. We will learn how this unique cuisine evolved and taste some famous dishes. It is the perfect way to get acquainted with this fabulous city and the food that makes it famous.
This evening We will make our way from the French Quarter to the Marigny checking out local street musicians and local favorite drinks (drinks not included) and talk about the early history of music, drinking and vice in New Orleans. Touring we can go to Congo square at Louis Armstrong Park where hundreds of slaves would sing and dance in their local traditions dating back to the 1700’s. The Treme is famous for it’s music and we talk about the deep roots of musical history of the city from the first Native drumming circles and slave ships that enriched New Orleans music to this day. We will catch live music like a brassband on Frenchmen St or a band in the courtyard at Bacchanals in the 9th ward! The 9th ward is home to many amazing music legends and where we will tour and talk about music legends like Fats Domino, Trombone Shorty, Jessie Hill and Big Freeda!
