Day 5 – Abu Dhabi Sightseeing

Day 5 – Abu Dhabi Sightseeing

Once in Abu Dhabi, you can enjoy modern interpretations of traditional Arabian architecture in the many skyscrapers, villas and palaces that line the Riviera-style Corniche. We first stop for a guided tour to Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, which is considered to be the best architectural treasure of contemporary UAE society – and one of the largest in the world.

There is a Mandatory Dress code to be followed for entry to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Abu Dhabi. Long trousers or long skirts & long sleeves to ankle/wrist. No shorts for men, no tight & transparent clothing. Women must cover their head with a scarf hence we suggest to bring it along. No visible tattoos.

Then we drive through the Corniche road with a photo stop at the breakwater and the iconic hotel of Abu Dhabi Emirates Palace and we visit the Heritage Village, a reconstructed traditional “oasis”. Here, journey to the past and experience life in Abu Dhabi before oil revenues altered the landscape. We’ll experience different aspects of desert life attractively displayed in the open-air museum, along with workshops, where craftsmen demonstrate traditional skills and women sit weaving and spinning.

After lunch on own, we visit Qasr Al Hosn, the oldest and most significant building in Abu Dhabi, holding the city’s first permanent structure; the watchtower. Built around the 1790’s, the commanding structure overlooked the costal trade routes and protected the growing settlement established on the island.

Next we drive to Yas Island for photo stop from outside in F1 and Ferrari World Theme Park and then the tour ends at the hotel in Abu Dhabi.
