In February, the golden triangle cities of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur stay relatively cool and dry with little rainfall. During the day, it's usually sunny with an average temperature of 23°C (73°F). At dusk, the temperature starts dropping to around 10°C (50°F).

Currency

The Indian currency is called the Indian Rupee (INR). Currency is divided into denominations of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 2000 Rupees.

For easy conversion purposes, $10 USD is approximately equal to 850 Indian Rupees.

Credit cards are widely accepted with Visa and MasterCard being the most popular. Do not expect to be able to use American Express widely.

ATMs are available in most areas. Confirm with your bank that your ATM card can be used internationally.

** Please note: You will not be able to bring Indian Rupees into the country. You must obtain local currency at a currency exchange, ATM, bank or in some instances the hotel.

Electric Outlets

In India there are three associated plug types, types C, D and M. Type C plugs have two round pins, type D plugs have three round pins in a triangular pattern and type M plugs have three round pins. India operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz.

A universal all-in-one travel adapter (can be purchased from Amazon) will allow you to plug in and charge most devices.  If you plan to use a blow dryer, flat iron or curling iron form North America you will require a converter.
