If you have purchased your own pre-night or post night accommodations (not through the Women’s Travel Club) you will have to arrange your own airport transfer or take a taxi. |
 | Flight Booking The Women’s Travel Club recommends booking flexible/refundable air tickets when possible. Please do not book flights until your tour status is guaranteed. Once your flights are booked, please enter your flight information on the pre-travel form above. If you would like assistance booking international flights for your tour, please use the form below. The Women’s Travel Club Flight Desk will work with you to arrange the best options. Our flight management fee is CAD 100.00 + HST per tour. |
Entry Requirements and Information
Visa
For Canadian and U.S. citizens, you need to apply for an ETA before travelling to the UK. You must travel on the passport used for your ETA application. Apply for an electronic travel authorisation (ETA) at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta – UK Visas and Immigration.
You do not need an ETA if:
- You are transiting through an airport in in the UK without passing border control
- You are a dual national travelling on your British, Irish, or British overseas territories citizen passport
- You have a visa or permission to live, work or study in the UK
- You live in Ireland and you are travelling from Ireland, Guernsey, Jersey or the Isle of Man
Passport
You should always make sure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months past the dates of travel.
Vaccinations
While no specific vaccinations are required, we recommend that your routine vaccinations are up to date and that you visit a local travel health clinic or doctor for advice prior to the trip. It is the traveler’s responsibility to ensure they meet all requirements.

| Weather In May, temperatures in the Cotswolds and Wales hit highs of 63°F (17°C) and lows of 45°F (7°C). Depending on which way the wind is blowing, it can feel cold enough for a coat or warm enough for a t-shirt. | Currency The official currency in the United Kingdom is the pound sterling (GBP/£). One pound sterling consists of 100 pence. Notes are £5, £10, £20, and £50. Coins are 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 and £2. ATM (cash) machines accepting all major international credit and debit card brands are widely available. Credit cards are widely accepted. | Electric Outlets United Kingdom the associated plug type is G. Type G plugs have three rectangular pins in a triangular pattern. The United Kingdom operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz. A universal all-in-one travel adapter (can be purchased from retailers like Amazon) will allow you to plug in and charge most electronic devices. Most electronic devices have built-in converters. However, if you plan to use North American appliances like hair dryers, flat irons or curling irons you will need a converter. |
