Tuscany Cooking School

Tuscany is famous for its food, wine and scenery and our week at a Tuscan cooking school will give you all of this. Join Kirsten and Marianne with special guests George and Linda Meyers from Cook In Tuscany. Learn about life in a Tuscan village, talk about some favorite recipes and get to know our hosts for this amazing experience.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrive Montefollonico

Welcome to Tuscany!
On arrival you will be met at the train station and transferred to your hotel. Have a wonderful welcome this evening with a Prosecco and Aperitivo on the terrace overlooking Mount Amiata at La Chiusa. To be followed by a delicious 6 course welcome dinner. Your first introduction to the amazing food and meals you will enjoy over the next week.

Day 2 - Cooking Under the Tuscan Sun

Today's cooking class and lunch will be in Cortona with Antonietta. You will learn to roll pasta and make crostatas under the main street of Cortona in a 700-year old palace. After lunch enjoy free time to walk and shop on the streets of Francis May’s “Under the Tuscan Sun”. You will also have the opportunity to visit Saint Margherita Cathedral–where Saint Margherita lies in state.
Tonights meal will be a 5-course wine-paired dinner in Montefollonico

Day 3 - A Pope, a Roman Bath & Pici

Today's cooking class is with Elena. We will dance and sing as we roll Pici and grill Bistecca Fiorentina and then enjoy our lunch with wines paired by our world-class sommelier.
In the afternoon we will visit 3 UNESCO World Heritage sites and stop at famous Tuscan movie settings. Let George serve you the best gelato in Tuscany and then have some free time for shopping in Pienza.
Tonight's dinner in Pienza prepared by the “understudy” of Gordon Ramsey.

Day 4 - Wine Dinner, Truffles, and Shopping

Our cooking class & Lunch will be at La Chiusa. Roll pasta, grill chicken, bake eggplant Parmesan, and prepare panna cotta.
This afternoon we will head into Montepulciano for some shopping and an underground tour. Tour the ancient Etruscan caves under the hilltop village. The head back to our villa for Truffle Hunting to gather our truffles for dinner. Enjoy a Tuscan hay-ride thru the ancient vineyards.
This evening will be a 7-course dinner with 7-different wines in a 300-year old vineyard

Day 5 - Cheese, Bread and Pizza

We will start our day with a bread-making class at a local farm where we will bake and eat fresh Focaccia out of a 300-year old brick oven. Then make cheese with a master cheese maker–and eat the same cheese for lunch! Lunch will be an amazing tasting lunch with 9-different artisanal cheeses while enjoying the best view of Pienza and Montecchiello.
Tonight is pizza night at La Chiusa. 5-different Italian pizzas prepared in our kitchen by their expert pizza maker

Day 6 - Raviolli and Wine.

Cooking class today is with a Michelin-starred Chef, learn to make raviolli, gnocchi, and home-cooked gelato. Then enjoy lunch outside with a fantastic view and incredible wine.
This afternoon we will have Wine tasting with a world-class sommelier and then visit a local market and shop for local items we used throughout the week.
This evening is a 7-course farewell dinner at La Chiusa.

Day 7 - Arrivederci!

It is time to say good-bye to this beautiful country and the amazing friends you have made along the way. After breakfast we will transfer to the airport for your flight home.

Double Occupancy - $6999 CAD per person (sharing a room)

Single Occupancy - $7499 CAD per person (your own room)

 

If you would like the double occupancy rate but don't have a roommate we will match you with a suitable roommate. The single occupancy rate will give you your own room. Single occupancy very limited.

No deposit required at time of booking.
Deposit of $1000 per person due October 15, 2020.
A second deposit of $1000 is due on December 1, 2020

Final Payment due - February 1, 2021

This is a fairly relaxed tour. There are some longer walking tours, you should be able to walk on a flat surface for a few hours at a relaxed pace with stops.

Arrive and Depart from either Rome (FCO) or Florence (FLR) and then take the train to Chiusi Train Station. Those traveling from Naples (Sorrento Local Living Tour) will take the train from Naples to Chiusi.
