Day 1 - Arrive Zurich

Welcome to Switzerland!
Upon arrival at the airport today you will be met by a local guide and transfer to your hotel.
The adventure begins tonight. Feel free to explore before your welcome meeting, but make sure you’re back in time to meet the group. After introductions, your tour leader will review the details of your tour. After our meeting we will enjoy a wonderful welcome dinner with our fellow travelers.

Day 2 - Zurich

In the morning, you enjoy a sightseeing tour of Zurich and its main monuments: take in the fabulous views of the Alps and Lake Zurich from the Hohen strasse. We will stop briefly in Rapperswil, the quaint city of roses. On our way back to Zurich you enjoy a lovely cruise on Lake Zurich.

Day 3 - Lucerne - Mount Titlis - Interlaken

Departure for Lucerne, a medieval old town, we will have a guided tour including the Chapel Bridge, the Lion Monument, lunch at Chateau Gutsch, a fairytale castle from the 19th century, with a magnificent view of Lucerne, the lake, and the mountains. After lunch we continue to Engelberg. Take the rotating Rotair cable car to the top of Mount Titlis and its spectacular glacier. From an elevation of 3.020m, visitors enjoy breathtaking views of the Central Alps.
In the afternoon, you visit the lakeside town of Brienz and see the talented woodcarving artisans. Continue to Interlaken, at the foot of Mount Jungfrau. Tonight we will enjoy a three-course Sunset menu combined with a relaxing cruise on Lake Thun.

Day 4 - Bern - Gruyeres - Montreux

From Interlaken, we drive along Lake Thun to Bern, located on the Aare River, overlooking the Alps. Visit the city of Bern with a walking tour to view the magnificent Munster, the Clock Tower, the Rose Garden and the famous Bear Park. Afterwards, we continue to Gruyeres, a picturesque village with an impressive medieval castle, we will stop to visit a local cheese maker where you will learn more about the cheese production. Then we will visit the Cailler Chocolate Factory with a chocolate tasting. Arrival in Montreux, a lovely city located on the shores of Lake Geneva.

Day 5 - Lausanne

In the morning after breakfast you will be treated to a city tour of Montreux. Later you will continue to visit the wonderful Chillon Castle whose photos are present in almost each of Switzerland’s calendars. Next we will go to Lausanne. Lausanne is a picturesque city located on the shores of Lake Geneva surrounded by vineyards, you will have a panoramic city tour and then head to Lavaux, travelling thru the mountains marvel at the views, and stop along the way for a wine-tasting and a lunch stop before heading back to Montreaux for some free time.

Day 6 - Zermatt

Travel to Zermatt. On your way you will pass through the wine area of Sion. Then you’ll continue through the valley of the Rodano River to Tasch. From here, you continue by narrow gauge train to Zermatt, nestled at the foot of the mighty Mount Matterhorn.

Day 7 - Zermatt

Today we will venture to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, board the cable car to the top of the 3883 m “little” Matterhorn to enjoy a breathtaking view of Mount Cervin which is located just on the opposite side. A visit to the highest ice palace of the world is going to make this tour an extraordinary experience.

Day 8 - Nufenen Pass

In the morning, you are free to explore Zermatt at your leisure or undertake an optional excursion to the top of Mount Gornergrat (not included). In the afternoon, you return to Tasch where you board the bus for a spectacular drive over the high Nufenen mountain pass to Airolo. Return to Zurich. Arrival in Zurich at Swisshotel at 6:30pm. Fondue dinner included for our farewell to Switzerland.

Day 9 - Depart

It is time to say good-bye to this beautiful country and the amazing friends you have made along the way. After breakfast we will transfer to the airport for your flight home.

If you would like the double occupancy rate but don't have a roommate we will match you with a suitable roommate. The single occupancy rate will give you your own room. Single occupancy may be limited. CAD = Canadian dollars. USD = United States of America dollars. Conversion to USD is approximated by current exchange rates and subject to change. You will be charged in CAD and your bank may charge a slightly different rate or fees.

Besides being an excellent tour leader, Debbie is our office manager. She will often be the person helping you with the all the details of your tour. Debbie is equally as organized on tour as she is in the office and will make sure everything is well taken care of. She loves photography and you will often find her off taking pictures of all the amazing sights you will see.

This is a large hotel with high standards of service, and despite not being central, its location is still convenient. The hotel is in a convenient location, although not central. It is located on the outskirts of Zurich in front of a large shopping complex and next to Oerlikon railway station. There is regular transport to the main railway station which is a 5-10 minute drive away. The rooms are medium in size and decorated in bright summery colours. All rooms offer a very good standard of comfort and have been recently renovated. The bathrooms which are decorated in marble, are also in a very good condition.Nespresso coffee and tea makers as well as a great choice of pillows cater for your individual needs.
