Day 2
Women's Travel Club South Africa Safari & Tour - Table Mountain
Cape Town

Today we head out for a guided tour of beautiful Cape Town. Originally intended as a supply station for Dutch ships en route to Eastern Africa, India and the Far East, by 1652, Cape Town had become the first permanent European settlement in South Africa. Our guide will introduce us to city, giving us insight into the history and the people who call Cape Town home.

A trip up Table Mountain is quite rightly one of the first things a tourist wants to do when arriving in Cape Town. Once on the top, a 1000m above the city below, you are rewarded with spectacular 360 views. Take your time and enjoy this unique environment, go for a walk or have a bit to eat at the restaurant with arguably one of the best views possible.
Diamonds are the world’s most desirable treasure – and the oldest, with origins over three billion years ago. South Africa’s contribution to that history changed the world diamond industry forever. The Cape Town Diamond Museum pays homage to this extraordinary story, with insight and originality, sophistication and style Experience diamonds like never before. Learn about the diamond industry, the history of diamonds and diamonds in South Africa. You can expect an intimate tour and learning experience when visiting the diamond museum. Expect to see mining gear, famous diamond replicas, historical artifacts, specimens of natural kimberlite and much more. You will also have the chance to see how diamond jewellery is manufactured to the final product.
On the lower slopes of Table Mountain, the beautiful Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens showcases some of the Cape’s rich flora. Taking centre stage here is the unique ‘fynbos’ vegetation. Those who work up an appetite while exploring this garden paradise can visit the restaurant or tea room, which are fully stocked with delicious meals, yummy treats and refreshing beverages. Day 3
Women's Travel Club South Africa Safari & Tour - Boulders Beach
Cape Peninsula

Extending into the Atlantic, the rugged Cape Peninsula marks the southwesternmost point of the African continent. It features pristine white-sand beaches met by craggy mountains interspersed with quaint little coastal towns. Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope can be found along the southern end of this spectacularly scenic peninsula, while the northern tip is crowned by the world-famous Table Mountain which towers over the city of Cape Town

Cape Town definitely has no shortage of amazing beaches, but Boulders Beach in False Bay offers something extra special – a colony of African Penguins in all their smartly dresses, waddling glory, right under your nose. In fact, it’s the only place in the world where you can get close to African Penguins.

Day 4
Women's Travel Club South Africa Safari & Tour - Cape Town
Cape Town

Uthando (Love) South Africa is an award winning Fair Trade in Tourism certified non profit organisation that is creating a unique link between tourism and community development projects.

This tour offers a meaningful, authentic, engaging, non invasive and respectful visit to a broad range of innovative and inspiring community projects while also bringing enormous benefits to the local communities being visited. During our visits we shine a light on the remarkable and courageous community activists driving social change in their communities. Our tours reflect a heartfelt desire to showcase the best of South Africa, the positive, impactful and very often untold stories of triumph over adversity.
The tours take place in the expansive “townships” located on the eastern part of the city known as the Cape Flats. While driving from the city bowl to the townships, our expert guides provide an indepth overview to the history of South Africa and particularly the role that apartheid and institutionalized discrimination and inequality played in creating these communities. Once in the townships the guide will discuss in detail the challenges confronting the locals with reference to issues such as healthcare, education, social, political and economic challenges.
Next we visit Cheetah outreach to learn about Cheetah conservation in Africa. Cheetah Outreach founded the Cheetah Outreach Trust in 2001 (IT/3229 2000) which was registered as a non-profit organization (NPO 013-501) in 2005. The main objective of the Cheetah Outreach Trust is to engage in or promote nature conservation and to develop and implement long term multi-disciplinary educational and conservation efforts for the survival of the free ranging cheetah and its ecosystem in remaining habitats in Southern Africa.

"My safety was watched by all and I appreciated it as after two surgeries I am slow and somewhat clumsy. Gratefully I came home unscathed. I really enjoyed both tour guides, Piet and Chris for their knowledge, inclusivity and fun."

"I was to share a room with a fellow traveller. I gave info to your company regarding sleep habits as did she. I'm not sure the info was even reviewed because we were very different and she was not able to sleep with me in the room. She requested another option and I ended up paying half of another room so we each had our own room for half of the trip."

Laura

WTC Reply - Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you had a great time on the tour but sorry your roommate situation did not work out. We do our best to match roommates but because of our small groups we generally only have one or two roommates to choose from. We do note that if you snore or are a light sleeper we recommend getting a single room. We are very glad that we were able to accommodate you after the first night and get your own room for the remainder of the tour.
