Our tour starts in Vancouver, BC. This great Canadian city is framed by the Pacific Ocean and majestic mountains. Here we board the iconic Rocky Mountaineer for a once in a lifetime journey through the Rocky Mountains. We overnight in Kamloops, at the heart of the Thompson Okanagan region. Then continue to Banff, Alberta, Canada's famed resort town. Here you will see nature at her finest with some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world.

Women's Travel Club Rocky Mountain Rail Journey
Day 1 - Arrive Vancouver

Welcome to British Columbia!
Upon arrival, you will be met at the airport and transferred to the Hotel. The rest of the day is yours to explore until this evening when we will get together for a welcome dinner.

Day 2 - Vancouver

Today we will have a full day tour to see everything Vancouver has to offer. Vancouver is commonly called the Gem on the coast with the right mix of cultures, modern city planning, and an abundance of natural features and wholesome recreation. On this 6-8 hour Grand City Tour, you see the history and uniqueness of Vancouver. Tour downtown Vancouver ,Canada Place, Vancouver Convention Centre, Lion Gate Bridge,, English Bay ,Olampic Village,Stanley Park, Gastown ,False Creek,, Yaletown, Coal Harbour,Chinatown, and Granville Island Public Market. Experience that special vibe that makes this city one of the most cosmopolitan places in the world. We visit English Bay and The Shaughnessy area for grand house viewing built in the early 1900,s through the south Granville shopping district to the famous Granville Island Public Market for lunch. our journeys take us into trendy Yaletown for a mix of modern and old before heading to fabulous Chinatown.

Day 3 - Board Rocky Mountaineer - Kamloops

Today we board Canada's iconic luxury train, the Rocky Mounaineer for a truly memorable rail journey through the Rocky Mountains. Travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer from the coastal city of Vancouver to Kamloops, in the heart of British Columbia's interior. On today's journey you will see dramatic changes in scenery, from the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley, through forests and winding river canyons surrounded by the peaks of the Coast and Cascade Mountains, to the desert-like environment of the BC interior. Highlights include the rushing waters of Hell's Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River. Your day concludes as the Rocky Mountaineer travels along the shores of Kamloops Lake into Kamloops.
We will transfer for our Kamloops accommodations for the evening.

Day 4 - Rocky Mountaineer - Banff

Your journey continues Eastward to the mighty Canadian Rockies and the province of Alberta. Once again you will see a spectacular array of scenery as you travel across ranchlands, along rocky lakeshores, over high mountain passes and through the remarkable tunnels that form part of the rich rail history of the Canadian Rockies. Today's highlights include Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven, the climb over Rogers Pass, Kicking Horse Canyon, the Spiral Tunnels and, of course, the glaciers and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies. Your rail journey ends this evening in the resort town of Banff.

Day 5 - Banff & Lake Louise

This morning we set out on a tour to discover Banff, including a gondola ride. This tour is the perfect introduction to Banff and includes some of Banff’s most scenic and historically significant highlights such as the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, Bow Falls, Surprise Corner Lookout, and Banff’s largest lake, Lake Minnewanka.
You’ll then be transported to the base of Sulphur Mountain and ride the Banff Gondola to the top of Sulphur Mountain at 7,486 feet. At the summit, marvel at the unsurpassed view of Banff, the Bow Valley and a 360 degree view of six scenic mountain ranges. You’ll feel like you’re on top of the world when you are standing on the spacious main level observation deck.
After lunch in town we set off to explore two beautiful lakes, Lake Louise and Lake Moraine. These stunning alpine lakes look too beautiful to be real. On this sightseeing tour you will visit the “Jewel of the Canadian Rockies”, Lake Louise, and the world renowned Moraine Lake, both of which are part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of their priceless natural beauty. They’ll stop you in your tracks in awe. Wander the shoreline at Lake Louise and see the Victoria Glacier and the famous Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise Hotel, and then snap some shots of Moraine Lake in the beautiful Valley Of The Ten Peaks. Join your guide for a short walk up the Rockpile at Moraine Lake, where you’ll find the iconic view that was once on the back of the Canadian $20 bill.

Day 6 - Banff

Enjoy a free day in Banff. This beautiful area has so much to offer, great sightseeing, world class adventure activities and great shopping.

Day 7 - Calgary - Depart

It is time to say good-bye to this beautiful destination and fabulous new friends. We will have a group transfer to Calgary for your flight home.
