Lough Eske Castle & Spa

Lough Eske Castle has a long history which is wrapped in the story of Co. Donegal and Ireland. It is a story of being carved piece by piece from local stone carried by Clydesdale horses along specially constructed roadways. It is a tale of being won, lost, ruined and restored. Powerful 14th century clans of Donegal the O'Donnells had their seat here, wealthy landowners ruled from here and Edwardian glamour was played out. In 1861 the new Lough Eske Castle, as we know it today, was built on the site of the old Brooke Mansion. Always a place for entertaining international guests since 1861, Lough Eske Castle remains full of warm Donegal hospitality today as it did over 150 years ago.

"Great trip, even better as I review it in my mind." Pearl

5 Star Rating

"All around the trip was well planned and well orchestrated. Everything went smoothly, I did not feel rushed in the mornings, ample time was given to visit shops for shopping, and the two coordinators were well prepared and dealt with any issues that came up. The group of women varied in age but was a good blend. Found everyone in good humor each day and was no doddlers which made the trip enjoyable. Our travel guide was a very well informed although at times it took a while to complete his story, he always started where he left off which was good. He was a driver that made me feel comfortable (not a wild driver). All in all the trip was excellent and I will be recommending the women's travel club to my family, friends and acquaintances." Murielle
