You will have some free time to relax this afternoon until we meet this evening for a suset boat cruise. We will be leaving the lodge/launching bay by boat for a sunset cruise along the Boro river into the Okavango Delta. Wonderful bird watching along the way with sun downer drinks available from the bar. After the cruise we enjoy our first dinner together and get better acquainted.

Day 2
Women's Travel Club Botswana Safari
Moremi Game Reserve

After breakfast we will fly by light aircraft to Moremi Game Reserve (please note the strict luggage weight of 20 kg, including hand luggage per person). Although just fewer than 5,000 square kilometers (1,900 square miles) in extent, Moremi Game Reserve is a surprisingly diverse game reserve, combining mopane woodland and acacia forests, floodplains and lagoons.

Only about 30% of the Reserve is mainland, with the bulk being within the Okavango Delta itself. The Moremi is home to the most endangered species of large mammals: the cheetah, white rhinoceros, black rhinoceros, African wild dog and lion. Over 500 bird species (from water birds to forest dwellers) and over a 1.000 species of plants are also recognized in the Moremi. This ecosystem is amongst the richest in Africa. And thanks to effective protection, the flora and fauna is relatively undisturbed.
Our home in Moremi will be Moremi Crossing, a 16 tent, eco friendly camp built on a palm fringed island surrounded by the Moremi's game-rich seasonal floodplains and overlooking Chief's Island. Moremi Crossing is a new style safari camp combining luxury with simplicity. This is a 100% eco-friendly development featuring the latest in solar and waste disposal technology.

Women's Travel Club Botswana Safari
All activities are included at Moremi Crossing. Explore the wilderness with game drives, guided bush walks, or sit back and absorb the scenery from a traditional 'mokoro' canoe. Another great way to explore the crystal clear channels of the Boro River is by motor-boat. Watch the sun set while drifting along a lagoon and sipping on sundowners. Game drives will be available only when water levels are low. There will be no game drives when water levels are high as areas of the concession become inaccessible. Mokoros, boat cruises & fishing are also water level dependent. Accommodations: Moremi Crossing

Day 3
Women's Travel Club Botswana Safari
Moremi Fly Camp

Explore the stunning Delta with expert local guides to enjoy wildlife viewing from mokoros, African dugout canoes, and on bush walks; also visit a fish monitoring station and a local village. This evening, we will enjoy a unique stay in a bush camp on one of the remote Islands within the Delta. Here we enjoy a 3 course meal around a roaring camp fire, sitting back and listening to the night calls of the Delta wildlife.

Tonight we enjoy a unique and adventurous stay in a remote bush camp (known locally as a fly camp). Accommodation will be in simple dome tents on cots, and facilities are wash basins and out house/long drop toilette (simple but clean) which are shared amongst our group. There is no electricity and lighting in the evenings is by lantern, so please bring a flashlight. While basic, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to immerse yourself into the wilds of Africa. Our local guides and staff add some comfortable touches, excellent food and spin some fantastic campfire stories.

Continue to explore Chief's Island, on foot, by vehicle or by boat. Lion, leopard, wild dog, elephant, giraffe, zebra, buffalo, red lechwe and more have been spotted on walks. On mokoro you have the opportunity to see water fowl like African Jacana, African Fish Eagle, Malachite Kingfisher, or the rare Pel's Fishing Owl.

This morning we fly to our new camp in the Okavango Delta. Splash Camp is situated in the heart of the Okavango Delta, within the Private Kwara Reserve. This brand new camp will offer a very relaxed, friendly and authentic atmosphere. The Kwara Reserve shares a 30km water boundary with the famous Moremi Game Reserve and its unique location boasts both permanent water and seasonal flood plains as well as extensive dry bush wilderness. Favoured by labyrinths of permanent water channels and secret islands this area offers the perfect delta experience, and is considered to be amongst the best in Botswana for game viewing and activities.

There is a double deck boat available to go out for a short sunset cruises, the perfect way to spend an afternoon, meandering the waterways. In the months of October to March, it is also possible to visit the heronries at Godikwe and Gcobega Lagoons. It is also possible to do guided walks year round. An area is chosen at the guide's discretion and in keeping with safe distances from large herds of elephant and buffalo.
