Day 2
Women's Travel Club Arizona Guest Ranch Experience
Cowboy Cookout

After a wonderful, complete breakfast we will set off to learn a bit about the desert that surrounds us. Join one of the ranch naturalists to learn about edible and medicinal plants found in the Sonoran Desert. In addition, explore cultural connections of some of these plants and the history of what “makes the desert tick”.

The prickly pear cactus, mesquite tree, and saguaro cactus are just a few of the fascinating desert plants used by the locals. Enjoy the rest of the morning and early afternoon at your leisure to either take part in one of the ranch's many activities or lounge by the pool. We will meet in early evening for a sunset ride. Take in the beauty of a Sonoran Desert sunset on horseback. Climb the mountain trails as you take in an extraordinary view filled with endless blue sky, towering cacti, and a glimpse of various wildlife encounters.
This evening we are in for a wonderful treat with an authentic Cowboy Cookout. Head down to Cottonwood Grove for a down-home ranch BBQ experience. Fill your plate with the chef’s choices of grilled meats including ribs or steaks, homemade cornbread, fresh fruit, and more while listening to live music. Take a seat fireside and join other guests as you take a moment to savor all the great food, authentic entertainment, good company, and incredible scenery. Just because you’re at a BBQ, doesn't’t mean your sweet tooth won’t be satisfied…a big dessert table hosts a variety of freshly baked sweets to suit any craving.
