Arrival Details

Arrive to Delhi - Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) - at any time on or before the first day of the tour.

Departure Details

Depart from Delhi - Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) - in the evening on the last day of the tour.

Airport Transfers

Airport transfers are included with your tour. You will be met at the airport. After you exit the secure area look for someone with a sign with either your name or the Women's Travel Club. 

 

If you have purchased your own pre-night or post night accommodations (not through the Women's Travel Club) you will have to arrange your own airport transfer or take a taxi.

Flight Information

The Women’s Travel Club recommends booking flexible/refundable air tickets when possible. Please do not book flights until your tour status is guaranteed. Once your flights are booked please enter your flight information on the pre-travel form above.

Our Flight management fee is CAD 100.00 + HST, per tour.

Entry Requirements

Visa

A visa is needed to travel to India. To apply for an Indian e-visa, please visit https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/index.html.

 

Passport

Your passport must be valid for 6 months from your date of entry into India and must contain at least two blank pages for use by immigration officials.

 

Vaccinations
While no specific vaccinations are required, we recommend that your routine vaccinations are up to date and that you visit a local travel health clinic or doctor for advice prior to the trip.

 

Proof of yellow fever vaccination is required if you are coming from or have transited through an airport of a country where yellow fever occurs.

 

The Women's Travel Club recommends travelers to be fully vaccinated against COVID. Some countries will require COVID vaccination to enter, it is the traveler's resposibility to insure they meet all requirements.

Weather

March in the golden triangle cities (Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur) and in Rajasthan is pleasant to visit with temperatures typically around 28°C (82°F) in the day. March is the dry season, with plenty of sunshine with low rainfall.

Currency

The currency in India is the Indian Rupee (INR).

Non-residents are prohibited from importing or exporting the Indian rupee. A limit of 25,000 rupees is imposed on residents. Upon entering or leaving India, you must make a declaration to customs if you have USD 5,000 or more, or the equivalent in other currencies.

ATMs can be found throughout India on the market at airports or in any outstanding urban areas. Indian State ATMs accept Visa and MasterCard as most common types. Indian rupees can be withdrawn from any ATMs.

Electric Outlets

In India there are three associated plug types, types C, D and M. Type
C plugs have two round pins and type D and M plugs have three round pins in a triangular pattern. India operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz.
 
A universal all-in-one travel adapter (can be purchased from retailers like Amazon) will allow you to plug in and charge most electronic devices. Most electronic devices have built-in converters. However, if you plan to use North American appliances like hair dryers, flat irons or curling irons you will need a converter.
