Arrival Details

Arrive to Cusco - All international flights into Peru route through Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM) in Lima, where you must go through immigration and customs before continuing on to Cusco. There are two airline carriers that fly round-trip between Lima and Cusco: LATAM Airlines and Avianca Airlines.

Departure Details

Depart from Cusco - Your itinerary ends in Cusco after drop-off at your hotel at approximately 7:00 PM. The last flight out of town leaves in the early evening; please be sure to schedule any outbound flights for the following morning at the earliest.

Airport Transfers

Airport transfers are included with your tour. You will be met at the airport. After you exit the secure area look for someone with a sign with either your name or the Women's Travel Club.

 

If you have purchased your own pre-night or post night accommodations (not through the Women's Travel Club) you will have to arrange your own airport transfer or take a taxi.

Flight Information

The Women’s Travel Club recommends booking flexible/refundable air tickets when possible. Please do not book flights until your tour status is guaranteed. Once your flights are booked please enter your flight information on the pre-travel form above.

Our Flight management fee is CAD 100.00 + HST, per tour.

Entry Requirements

Visa

For Canadian and U.S. citizens, a visa is not required for stays of less than 90 days in Peru.
 

Passport

Passports must be valid for 6 months at the time of entry and have at least 1 blank page for entry stamp.
 

Vaccinations
While no specific vaccinations are required, we recommend that your routine vaccinations are up to date and that you visit a local travel health clinic or doctor for advice prior to the trip.

 

There is a risk of yellow fever in Peru. Proof of vaccination is not required to enter the country.

 

We do suggest being on altitude medication for this trip. You should visit a travel clinic or doctor prior to this tour to have recommendations specific to your needs.

 

The Women's Travel Club recommends travelers to be fully vaccinated against COVID. Some countries will require COVID vaccination to enter, it is the traveler's resposibility to insure they meet all requirements.

Weather

September in the Sacred Valley is generally sunny and dry. Although, there will be marginally more chance of rain than in high season, it will also be slightly warmer overall. Expect highs around 68°F (20°C) and lows around 41°F (5°C).

Currency

The official currency of Peru is the Sol (S/). Banknotes come in denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100 or 200 soles. Coins come in denominations of 1, 2 and 5 soles, as well as 10, 20 and 50 cents. US dollars are accepted in a large number of commercial establishments, restaurants, hotels and gas stations. Foreign currency can be exchanged at banks or exchange offices.

ATMs can be found in almost all cities in the country and most are connected to the Plus (Visa), Cirrus (MasterCard) networks, American Express, and others. Cash can be withdrawn in soles or US dollars from these ATMs.

Visa and Mastercard are the most widely accepted credit cards.

Electric Outlets

In Peru there are three associated plug types, types A, B and C. Type A plugs have two flat parallel pins, type B plugs have two flat parallel pins and a grounding pin and type C plugs have two round pins. Peru operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz.
 
A universal all-in-one travel adapter (can be purchased from retailers like Amazon) will allow you to plug in and charge most electronic devices. Most electronic devices have built-in converters. However, if you plan to use North American appliances like hair dryers, flat irons or curling irons you will need a converter.
