Arrival Details
Arrive to Sofia, Bulgaria - Sofia International Airport (SOF) - at any time on or before first day of tour.

Re: Arrival Airport Transfers:
Three private transfers are organized according to the provided flight schedule. The ladies will be welcomed at the Arrival Hall of Sofia airport by the driver of their private transfer. He will be holding a welcome sign with the Women's Travel Club logo and will take them to Hotel Coop. The drive is about 30-40min depending on the traffic:

Transfer 1: May 30th, flight arriving 18:05h, 1 pax (Barbara Jack)

Transfer 2: May 31st, flight arriving 12:10h, 1 pax (Jody Wellings)

Transfer 3: May 31st, flight arriving 13:20h, 5 pax (Kristen Sanders, Laura Murray, Margaret Davison, Elizabeth Banting, Donna Hearn)

Departure Details
Depart from Sofia, Bulgaria - Sofia International Airport (SOF) - at any time on last day of tour.
Airport Transfers
Airport transfers are included with your tour. You will be met at the airport. After you exit the secure area look for someone with a sign with either your name or the Women's Travel Club.


 


If you have purchased your own pre-night or post night accommodations (not through the Women's Travel Club) you will have to arrange your own airport transfer or take a taxi.
Flight Information
The Women’s Travel Club recommends booking flexible/refundable air tickets when possible. Please do not book flights until your tour status is guaranteed. Once your flights are booked please enter your flight information on the pre-travel form above.

Our Flight management fee is CAD 100.00 + HST, per tour.
Entry Requirements
Visa




Canadian and U.S. citizens do not need a visa for stays of up to 90 days in Bulgaria.


 




Passport




You should always make sure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months past the dates of travel.




 


Vaccinations
While no specific vaccinations are required, we recommend that your routine vaccinations are up to date and that you visit a local travel health clinic or doctor for advice prior to the trip.


 


The Women's Travel Club recommends travelers to be fully vaccinated against COVID. Some countries will require COVID vaccination to enter, it is the traveler's resposibility to insure they meet all requirements.

Weather
During June in Bulgaria the average maximum daytime temperatures are high and range from 22°C (72°F) to 29°C (84°F). Minimum nighttime temperatures generally drop from 16°C (60°F) to 11°C (51°F).
Currency
The official currency in Bulgaria is the lev (BGN) which is equal to 100 stotinki (st.). Banknotes typically come in denominations of 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 Lev. However, since 2015, 2 Lev notes are rare, and 2 lev coins are far more widely used. Coins come in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 stotinki coins and 1 and 2 Lev coins.


Most Bulgarian hotels and stores now accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Diners Club credit cards.


Currency can be exchanged in banks or currency exchange offices.
Electric Outlets


In Bulgaria there are two associated plug types, types C and F. Type C plugs have two round pins and type F plugs have two round pins with two earth clips on the side. Bulgaria operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz.




 




A universal all-in-one travel adapter (can be purchased from retailers like Amazon) will allow you to plug in and charge most electronic devices. Most electronic devices have built-in converters. However, if you plan to use North American appliances like hair dryers, flat irons or curling irons you will need a converter.
